The turn of the year is a time for change and reflection, and you may find yourself staring at your home, wondering what you could do to change things up for the new year.

If you’re looking for inspiration, we included a few of the top trends we’re looking forward to in 2018. And if you’re remodeling, expanding, or just wanting a fresh look, feel free to schedule a consultation today.

SAGE: Pantone’s top pick for a new home color is sage. This relaxing green hue is a colorful neutral that surprisingly fits with every style.

FRINGE: The 70s are back. Whether it’s trendy wall-hanging weavings or a funky bedspread, we’re seeing this groovy style everywhere.

SIMPLE LIGHTING: Speaking of throwbacks, we’re seeing a trend of simple industrial lighting as an overhead centerpiece for kitchens and even dining rooms.

WARM ACCENTS: Jewel tones were the pride and joy of 2017, but according to Inman’s, it seems 2018 “will signal the shift to a warmer vibe. Reds, warm grays and earthy shades of camel, rust, tobacco, brown-blacks and burnt yellow will take over the design scene for a sophisticated and rich look.”

WALLPAPER: You never thought you’d be embracing wallpaper the way your parents did, but it’s back! With bold geometrics and even florals, this industry is set to make a comeback in 2018 and ads a playful touch to any kitchen, bathroom, or bedroom.

MINIMALISM: Less is more. Of course, we could’ve seen this one from a mile away, especially with more decor suppliers switching to efficient and eco-friendly solutions. Minimalism is the trademark of today. And we could probably all use a little decluttering in the new year anyway.
